What We’re Watching: June Update

Watched

Word is that next series is going to be the last, and if this series was anything to go by 30 Rock going to go out strong. With episodes such as the genius “Leap Day” (directed by Steve Buscemi), this show is still as funny as it ever was.

Series 3 of the Square Eyed favourite featured some of it’s best episodes yet, the alternative reality tackling “Remedial Chaos Theory”, the Law & Order inspired “Basic Lupine Urology” and the difficult-to-explain “Curriculum Unavailable”. Hopefully this quality will continue next series, despite the departure of creator Dan Harmon. read more »

What We’re Watching: March Update

Watched

A relatively slow series despite the presence of Battlestar’s Edward James Olmos. Having said that, the series finale definitely gave us hope for the next series, as long as the writers don’t chicken out.

This anime about undead schoolgirls fighting demons also started off a little slow. But once the main story arc got in to full swing, this show fast became compulsive viewing. Which made the lackluster ending all the more disappointing.
