Freddie Got Frakked

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo inspired (not 100% legit?) trailer you see above is the first glimpse we’re getting of the new prequel series to Battlestar Galactica, Blood & Chrome. Here on square Battlestar Galactica or BSG for short, is basically the show to which all other shows are compared to. It was that good. It was also a bit shit that SyFy gave up on the less action focused BSG prequel, Carprica, so quickly. So we’re definitely interested in to what they do with this new series.

At Last An Excuse For A Batman Post

So what am I doing posting up a trailer for a straight-to-DVD animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One? That doesn’t exactly fall under our jurisdiction. Well if I’m honest, I just think this looks pretty damn good. As it happens the voice-over cast for this film is a who’s who of TV actors.

First we’ve got an interesting casting of Ben McKenzie (Southland, The OC) as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Then there’s Eliza Dushku (Buffy, Dollhouse) as Catwoman, in a role that she was born to play. And Playing Lt. James Gordon is none other that Brian “Breaking Bad” Cranston. Battlestar’s Katee Sackhoff and Cowboy Bebop’s Steve Blum also make vocal appearances.

So all things considered I’d say that ties in with the whole “television thing” we’ve got going on here rather nicely.

What’s With The Banner?

The idea is that it kind of works like a rotating wall of fame, that shines a spotlight on six deserving TV personalities, that will change every so often.

As this is the first banner it was incredibly hard to narrow it down to just these six. We wanted people that represent every colour of the TV spectrum. Whether it was a character from a universally acclaimed sci-fi series or a polarising contestant from an entertainment juggernaut.

So now it is of the utmost pleasure that I give to you the Square Eyed Banner of Fame – Class of July 2011.
