Analytics Analysed

Naya-Rivera - Is This What You Came Here For?Anyone that runs a blog/website will know that Google Analytics can be horribly addictive shit. Finding out not only how many hits you’ve had, but where these hits have come from, how these users found your site, what they looked at and for how long, is just endlessly fascinating (isn’t it?).

When it comes to Square Eyed’s analytics one of the most interesting sections is what people have searched for in sites like Google to wind up on our humble little site. Highlights include “does kerry katona like big cock”, “frankie cocozza twat” or my personal favourite “all amateurcastingporn”. But most intriguing of all is that 11% of our search engine traffic comes from people searching for (perving over) “naya rivera” of Glee fame. That’s more that double the second-most common term (“ari gold” for those of you that were wondering). We even appear on the first page when you search for her in Google (see screen-grab) which considering we’re relatively new to the whole “TV-blog scene”, is quite a big deal for us.

So in honour of the fact that ol’ Naya brings us an inexplicable amount of traffic considering we’ve only mentioned her once in a piece on Glee (which she is sterling in btw). I’m going to make her the unofficial Square Eyed mascot. I’m not entirely sure what this means yet (it’ll probably manifest itself in the form of a sidebar tile, maybe just before the mailing list sign-up form?),  but I hope that Naya continues to have great career and that it continues to rub off our viewing stats. So cheers, Naya.
