The New Faces of Being Human

Shits-a-changing on Being Human. First emo-vamp Mitchell (Aiden Turner) naffed off to do The Hobbit – which made sense because he was becoming a tad insufferable. Then we lost werewolf Nina (Sinead Keenan) – meh. And then finally we lost the original wolf-boy, Russell Tovey’s George – MAJOR SADFACE!

Not all is lost however. As can be seen above, This Is England’s Michael Socha has now been boosted up to a series regular, reprising his role from last series as Tom The Werewolf. Stepping in to the role of the brooding anti-hero is Damien Moloney as Hal The Vampire (more of whom you can see in the video below). And we’ve still got the ever-lovable Lenora Crichlow as hopeless ghost, Annie.

But who’s that in the right-hand corner? It’s only bloody Russell! Implying that whilst he is no longer a series regular, he will be making an appearance in the new series. Albeit a far more serious, crucifix-stake wielding appearance.

Will this new line-up work? I hope so. To be honest as long as they get Craig Roberts of Submarine fame back for another guest appearance, I am happy.

Gonna hit you with some TV trivia now:

  • Michael Socha is only the bloody brother of Misfits’ Lauren Socha. And now that I’ve pointed that out, it’s pretty obvious isn’t it?
  • BBC3′s biggest shows have been Gavin & Stacey, Being Human and, more recently Him & Her. “Where are you going with this?” I hear you ask. Well, Russel Tovey has starred in all three of these shows. Perhaps the guys at The Fades should take note of this phenomenon.
